DRAFT — pending counsel

This policy explains what Veya collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Veya is a pilot run from California. It connects skilled industrial workers with employers who evaluate them on real equipment.

What we collect from workers: your name, email address and mobile number; the language you prefer; your skills, certifications, work history and the equipment you have run; evaluations that employers record about your work; and your ZIP code, which we turn into a distance band and never show as an address. If an employer asks you for an identity photo for site access, it is released to that employer only after you accept their offer.

What we collect from employers: the names, titles and work email addresses of your team; your organisation's name, industry and site locations; the roles you post; and the evaluations, offers and shift close-outs you record.

What we collect from everyone: sign-in and security records (when you signed in, from what kind of device, and a one-way fingerprint of your IP address), the emails and text messages we send you and whether they were delivered, and the choices you make in the app.

How we use it: to run your account; to show an employer the evidence behind a worker's skills; to send offers, invitations and account emails; to keep the platform safe; to check that text a worker types does not reveal where they live or how to reach them before an offer; and to improve Veya. We do not give any worker a predictive score, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

Who we share it with: the employers you choose to work with (workers' contact details only after an offer is accepted); and the companies that run parts of Veya for us under contract: hosting (Fly.io), email delivery (Postmark), text messaging, and Anthropic, whose Claude models translate text between English and Spanish and check worker-typed text for contact details. These companies may use the information only to provide their service to us. We disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it: account information for as long as your account is open and up to 30 days after you close it; evaluation and offer records for four years, because employment-decision records may need to be kept that long; and security records for up to one year.

Your choices and rights: you can see and correct most of your information in the app. You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, and ask how it has been used. Residents of California and some other states have these rights by law. We will not treat you differently for using them. Write to support@workveya.co; we answer within 45 days.

Children: Veya is for people 18 and over.

Changes: when this policy changes we will ask you to read and accept the new version the next time you sign in.
